The contest between them and Vacaville wasn't particularly close, with Rodriguez falling 66-51. Rodriguez has struggled against Vacaville recently, as their match on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Rodriguez lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mia Marquez. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. That was a full 41.2% of Rodriguez's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Vacaville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maggie Lopez, who scored 13 points. Kelsey Collins was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Rodriguez has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season. As for Vacaville, their win bumped their record up to 7-15.
Rodriguez will head out on the road to face off against Vanden at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Vanden knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 contests -- so hopefully Rodriguez likes a good challenge. As for Vacaville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 199 points over their last three games.
