Football Game Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. North Providence Cougars + How To Watch

The Lincoln Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the North Providence Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Lincoln is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Coventry, who was ranked 24th at the time (Lincoln was ranked 21st). The Lions blew past the Oakers 37-15 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led North Providence over Chariho in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Cougars blew the Chargers out of the water with a 33-6 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 20-point advantage.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for North Providence, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Lincoln strolled past North Providence in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 44-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
