Basketball Recap: Hesperia Scorpions vs. Sultana Sultans
The Hesperia Scorpions won the last time they faced the Sultana Sultans, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Hesperia took down the Sultans 48-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hesperia.
Berlynn Miramontes was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hesperia's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Lerma, who scored three points along with four steals.
Hesperia's win bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Sultana, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-20.
Hesperia will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Oak Hills presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Scorpions in California (the Bulldogs are ranked 163rd, while the Scorpions are ranked 509th). Sultana does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
