Basketball Game Preview: Valley View Eagles vs. JW North Huskies

Valley View is 9-1 against JW North since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will welcome the Huskies at 6:15 p.m. Valley View has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Valley View is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Grand Terrace 62-43 on Monday.

Valley View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Meletonga Manu led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. Manu has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Mendiola, who posted nine points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Meanwhile, JW North played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Glendora 78-21. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-10.

JW North's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Valley View, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.

Valley View didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against JW North when the teams last played back in November, but they still walked away with a 43-39 win.
