Northside strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings with a sharp 7-1 win. Considering the Patriots have won four games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Sam Laney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Chris Biggs was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Fisher Taft, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Northside's record is now 5-0. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Northside is headed away from home for the first time to take on Whitewater at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they will face off against Carver at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
