Basketball Recap: Hailey Moy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lick-Wilmerding over San Domenico

Lick-Wilmerding easily dispatched Marin Academy last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Lick-Wilmerding Tigers fell just short of the San Domenico Panthers by a score of 56-54 on Thursday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hailey Moy, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards Moy has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Avery Robins, who earned nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Lick-Wilmerding smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Lick-Wilmerding's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for San Domenico, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Lick-Wilmerding didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-38 win against Dublin on the 25th. San Domenico has also already played their next match (against University), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
