Cherokee Bluff came tearing into  Tuesday's  contest with nine straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Oconee County Warriors  4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Bears have posted  since March 14th.
Cherokee Bluff got a great performance from  Gabe Gowder as he  pitched six innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   five  hits.
 At the plate,  Bubba Coleman was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ethan England, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-2.
Cherokee Bluff's win was  their sixth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 14-8. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oconee County,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 16-6 record.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Warriors beat Cherokee Bluff by a score of  9-8 on Friday.
