Baseball Game Preview: Lafayette Christian Cougars vs. Skipstone Academy Warriors

The Lafayette Christian Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Skipstone Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Skipstone Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lafayette Christian, who comes in off a win.

While Lafayette Christian's win against CrossPointe Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars skirted past the Cavaliers 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Skipstone Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to Flint River Academy.

Cody Collum made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.

Skipstone Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Lafayette Christian, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.

Everything went Lafayette Christian's way against Skipstone Academy in their previous matchup back in March, as Lafayette Christian made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
