Softball Recap: Douglas County West Has No Trouble Against Fort Calhoun

Douglas County West barely beat Fort Calhoun the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcon blew past the Pioneers 16-5 on Saturday. The Falcon haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Lillee Zach made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Zach was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

Douglas County West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Calhoun only managed eight.

Douglas County West's record now sits at 16-8. As for Fort Calhoun, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-4 record.

Douglas County West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Arlington on the 27th. As for Fort Calhoun, they have also already played their next game, a 9-1 defeat against Yutan-Mead on the 27th.
