Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Olivia Green and Mikayla Matincheck Lead Central Dauphin to Victory

Central Dauphin won the last time they faced Harrisburg and things went their way on Monday too. The Central Dauphin Rams enjoyed a cozy 53-36 win over the Harrisburg Cougars. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly 17 points.

Leading Central Dauphin to victory were Mikayla Matincheck and Olivia Green. Matincheck dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Green posted six points along with ten boards and three steals. Green has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Syncere Matthews, who earned nine points and five rebounds.

Central Dauphin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

Central Dauphin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Harrisburg, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15.

Central Dauphin will face off against Altoona at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Altoona's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 matchups.
