Basketball Game Preview: Stockdale Mustangs vs. Garces Memorial Rams

The Stockdale Mustangs will square off against the Garces Memorial Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Stockdale and six for Garces Memorial.

With Stockdale's effective field goal percentage at 100% and Frontier's at 38% on Thursday, the final result was to be expected on Thursday. Stockdale had to suffer through a 65-23 loss at the hands of Frontier. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-8.

Despite the defeat, Stockdale had strong showings from Emilee Turner, who posted seven points, and Ashley Wilson, who had five points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Garces Memorial played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against San Joaquin Memorial, falling 76-13. The contest marked the Rams' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Stockdale's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Garces Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Stockdale strolled past Garces Memorial when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 54-36. Will Stockdale repeat their success, or does Garces Memorial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
