Baseball Recap: Windham Comes Up Short

Windham extended their losing streak to 13 on Friday, dropping them down to 1-18. They lost 12-2 to the Suffield Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 last Saturday.

Francisco Alvarado made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Brandon Holman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

As for Suffield, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games.

On Suffield's side, Avery Fry was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was James Nikolis, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Coming up, Windham's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Windham RVT at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mighty Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.64 runs per game on average), something the Whippets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Suffield, they will challenge Stafford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
