Softball Recap: Dodge County Has No Trouble Against Dublin

Dodge County lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Dublin, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's match. The Indians were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Fighting Irish on Tuesday. Considering the Indians have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dodge County gave Emily Jones the start and clearly made the right call: she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jones has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gabriella Robinson and Rylee Harrell did most of the damage at the plate: Robinson went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Harrell went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Robinson has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Graham, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Dodge County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Dodge County pushed their record up to 4-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.3 runs over those games. As for Dublin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dodge County will venture away from home to square off against Bleckley County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dublin, they will head out to take on Portal at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
