Basketball Recap: Highlands Comes Up Short

Highlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Lindhurst Blazers 50-9. The Scots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-9.

Ashlynn Wheeler was nothing short of spectacular for Lindhurst: she dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. What's more, Wheeler also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Yolanda Gonzalez was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 14 rebounds.

Highlands' defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Lindhurst, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Highlands didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-3 loss against Rio Vista on the 7th. As for Lindhurst, they have also already played their next game, a 45-41 win against Vacaville Christian on the 7th.
