Softball Recap: Greene County Extends Winning Streak to Six

Greene County waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Northwest Webster Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rams also won the last time the pair played back in June of 2023.

Greene County's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Northwest Webster, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greene County will challenge Saydel at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.06 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Northwest Webster, they will face off against East Sac County at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
