Mt. Vernon hasn't lost a match since April 22nd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They blew past the Fort Madison Bloodhounds 5-1. The high-scoring effort was just what Mt. Vernon needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 7-5-5. As for Fort Madison, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7-2.

Coming up, Mt. Vernon will head out on the road to face off against Dallas Center-Grimes on Thursday. Dallas Center-Grimes will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Mt. Vernon surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fort Madison, they have already played their next match, a 5-1 defeat against Lisbon on the 27th.
