Softball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Sets Scoring Season-High Against Jefferson Academy

Thomas Jefferson extended their losing streak to 15 on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-15. They took a 20-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson Academy Jaguars. On the bright side, the 15- run effort marked the Spartans' highest-scoring game to date.

Thomas Jefferson got a massive performance out of Ariana Winn, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those stolen bases were Winn's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sunday Stork, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

As for Jefferson Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10-1. 20 seems to be a good number for them as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On Jefferson Academy's side, they got a massive performance out of Ellie Arnold, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Arnold has posted since September 5th. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Mooney, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Coming up, Thomas Jefferson will take on Denver North at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jefferson Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-7 defeat against Weld Central on the 27th.
