Softball Recap: Logan-Rogersville Sets Scoring Season-High Against Aurora

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Logan-Rogersville). They never let the Aurora Houn Dawgs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Houn Dawgs: they've now won seven in a row.

Logan-Rogersville got a great performance from Bella Pope as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Pope has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Amelia Booth, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Filak, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Logan-Rogersville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Logan-Rogersville back to even at 4-4. As for Aurora, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logan-Rogersville will face off against Marshfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bluejays' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Aurora, they will challenge Cassville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Houn Dawgs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
