It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Middleton had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Highland Rams, sneaking past 6-5. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 9-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Brady Larson looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Middleton let Vincent Donatini and DJ Brokaw run wild. Donatini went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Brokaw went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Donatini has posted since back in March. Drew Holman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double.

The win made it two in a row for Middleton and bumps their season record up to 19-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Highland, they moved to 18-12 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Highland wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-4 win against Centennial on the 9th. Hopefully Middleton paid attention to the Rams' contest: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Rams at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
