It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Johns Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Lanier Longhorns. The Gladiators haven't had any issues with the Longhorns recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Johns Creek's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Lanier, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

Coming up, Johns Creek will challenge Seckinger at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Seckinger's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Johns Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lanier, they will face off against Gainesville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
