Soccer Game Preview: Oxford Academy vs. Magnolia

The Oxford Academy Patriots will head out to face off against the Magnolia Sentinels at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Oxford Academy's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Pioneer. Considering the Patriots have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Magnolia had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Roadrunners with a sharp 5-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Sentinels considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

They hit Saddleback with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Angela Mantujano (2), Nicole Falcon, Grisell Preciado, and Tina Cruz.

Oxford Academy now has a winning record of 4-3-3. As for Magnolia, the victory got them back to even at 9-9-2.
