Softball Recap: Beatrice Takes a Loss

If Beatrice was riding high fresh off their 15-1 takedown of Central City on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Orangemen fell just short of the Kearney Bearcats by a score of 7-6 on Saturday. The Orangemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2021.

Tatum Tempelmeyer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Schwisow, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The defeat snapped Beatrice's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-4 record. As for Kearney, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3.

Beatrice has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Aurora on the 6th. As for Kearney, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 loss against Northwest on the 6th.
