Baseball Recap: Quincy's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Quincy can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Concord Yellowjackets. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Orioles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

JJ Wright made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has become a key player for Quincy: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise. Wright was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Joe Gray was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Christian Craven was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Quincy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concord only posted a batting average of .222.

Quincy now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Concord, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Quincy and Concord could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Orioles will take on Lumen Christi Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (303 vs. 24). Meanwhile, Concord (ranked 465th) will meet Grass Lake (ranked 162nd) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
