Basketball Recap: Valley Christian Comes Up Short

Valley Christian lost against Village Christian on Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Valley Christian Defenders took a blow against the Village Christian Crusaders, falling 75-30. While losing is never fun, the Defenders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 656th, while the Crusaders are ranked 177th).

Madison Mulligan continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Village Christian, going 8 of 17 en route to 22 points and three steals. Mulligan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jolie Ambartsumyan, who posted nine points and six boards.

Valley Christian dropped their record down to 9-15 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Village Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Valley Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-41 win against Whittier Christian on the 4th. As for Village Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 62-39 victory against Heritage Christian on the 4th.
