Basketball Game Preview: Sacramento Waldorf Waves vs. Encina Bulldogs

Sacramento Waldorf is 10-0 against Encina since November of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sacramento Waldorf Waves will challenge the Encina Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sacramento Waldorf has nine straight victories, Encina has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Sacramento Waldorf strolled past Foresthill with points to spare, taking the game 38-21.

Aubrey Payne continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5 for 11 on her way to 14 points and eight steals. Payne is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Meanwhile, Encina was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 28-24 to Futures.

Sacramento Waldorf's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.0 points per game. As for Encina, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Everything came up roses for Sacramento Waldorf against Encina when the teams last played on January 7th, as the team secured a 59-29 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Encina's Elise Brandon, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 boards.
