Football Recap: Jackson Guetter Key Part of Team Effort in Cougars Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cedar Mountain). They put the hurt on the Nicollet Raiders with a sharp 43-22 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won six in a row.

Cedar Mountain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jackson Guetter, who rushed for 252 yards and one score while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also caught one TD. Those 252 rushing yards gave Guetter a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thomas Dahmes, who gained 208 total yards and three touchdowns.

Cedar Mountain didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carson Schiller and Guetter. Another thorn in Nicollet's side was Kody Wenisch, who picked up three sacks and made seven total tackles.

The victory got Cedar Mountain back to even at 2-2. As for Nicollet, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Mountain will take on Red Rock Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nicollet, they will challenge New Ulm Cathedral at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
