Football Recap: Pittsburg Takes a Loss

Pittsburg was the 55-21 winner over Labette County when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dragons fell 20-13 to the Grizzlies on Friday. Despite 118 more yards than the Grizzlies, the Dragons couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Although Pittsburg took the loss, they still got scores from Jamarcus Davis and Malakai Meadows.

Labette County can attribute much of their success to Aaron Wyrick, who rushed for 27 yards and a pair of scores. Those 27 rushing yards gave Wyrick a new career-high.

Pittsburg now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Labette County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Pittsburg will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Fort Scott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Dragons' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Labette County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Wellington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
