            Football Recap: Poca Dots vs. Clay County Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            Poca extended their losing streak  to four  on Friday, dropping them down to 2-5. They lost  23-0 to the Clay County Panthers. The shutout was out of character for the Dots seeing as the last time the team failed to score was  back in September.
 Even if they lost, Poca's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks.  Corey Cook was especially locked on to Clay County's QB and sacked him three times.
As for Clay County,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 5-3. Considering they have won five games by more than 20  points this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Clay County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Cooper Collins, who threw for 204 yards and three  TDs. The Panthers are undefeated when  Collins posts three or  more  passing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Another receiver making a difference was  Joel Elliott, who picked up 45 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
 Poca has already played their next contest,  a  22-18  defeat against Sissonville on the 24th. As for Clay County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  41-0  victory against Ravenswood on the 24th.
