Basketball Recap: Rincon/University Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday + How To Watch

Rincon/University won the last time they faced Buena and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rangers were the clear victors by a 60-37 margin over the Colts. The Rangers pushed the score to 46-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Colts cut but never quite recovered from.

Rincon/University's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sabrina Wexler, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Wexler has become a key player for the Rangers: the team is 3-1 when she posts at least ten boards, but 2-3 otherwise. Noella Lubunga also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Rincon/University was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Buena's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taegan Allred, who posted eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Gretchen Adams, who had nine points and four steals.

Rincon/University pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games. As for Buena, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Rincon/University and Buena will both be playing Cholla the next time they take the court. The Rangers will head out to face the Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Colts will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2026.
