Basketball Game Preview: Analy Tigers vs. Eureka Loggers

Analy hasn't had much luck against Eureka recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The two teams will face off at 3:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played.

Analy's tournament run continued when they took on Maria Carrillo on Thursday. The game between Analy and Maria Carrillo didn't end well, with Analy falling 53-37.

Meanwhile, Eureka had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 58-43 win over the Panthers. Given the Loggers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Panthers are ranked 563rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eureka's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Analy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Analy was dealt a bruising 57-25 loss at the hands of Eureka when the teams last played back in December of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Analy was down 33-12.
