Soccer Recap: Storm Lake St. Mary Takes a Loss

Storm Lake St. Mary came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the West Sioux Falcons, falling 4-0. If Storm Lake St. Mary were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to West Sioux when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Storm Lake St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 4-4-2. As for West Sioux, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Storm Lake St. Mary will challenge Western Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Storm Lake St. Mary are facing Western Christian at the right time seeing as Western Christian are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for West Sioux, they will face off against Sioux Center at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Sioux Center will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something West Sioux surely won't give up without a fight.
