Baseball Game Preview: Madison Warhawks vs. Mission Bay Buccaneers

For the second straight game, Madison will face off against Mission Bay. The Warhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Madison has eight straight victories, Mission Bay has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, Madison was able to grind out a solid win over Mission Bay, taking the game 9-4.

Colin Gallagher tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Madison let Easton Ochoa and Jorge Luque run wild. Ochoa went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Luque went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Ochoa a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Villegas, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Madison lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Mission Bay's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Madison, their victory bumped their record up to 18-6.
