Mendota has gone 8-2 against Avenal recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mendota Aztecs will head out on the road to take on the Avenal Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m.

Mendota will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Coalinga, who they had gone 1-7-1 against in their nine prior meetings. Mendota walked away with a 3-1 victory over Coalinga on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Aztecs.

They hit Coalinga with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sofia Hamasaki, Yenifer Morales, and Haicell Escobar.

Meanwhile, Avenal has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 14. Neither they nor Firebaugh could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Mendota has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those five matches. With that draw, Avenal's record moves to 5-6-4.

Mendota was able to grind out a solid win over Avenal in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 2-0. Will Mendota repeat their success, or does Avenal have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
