Baseball Game Preview: Discovery Titans vs. Mill Creek Hawks

Discovery is 0-9 against Mill Creek since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Discovery Titans will take on the Mill Creek Hawks at 5:30 p.m. One thing working in Discovery's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.

If Discovery beats Mill Creek with 15 runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Discovery blew past Central Gwinnett 15-5 last Friday. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Black Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Santiago Daal made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Daal was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Wesley Pawlak and Beiker Yabarra did most of the damage at the plate: Pawlak scored three runs while going 1-for-3, while Yabarra scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alvaro Romero, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Mill Creek duked it out with Dacula on Friday. Mill Creek walked away with a 5-1 victory over Dacula. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Discovery's record is now 6-3. As for Mill Creek, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Discovery might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Mill Creek when the teams last played back in March of 2019. Can Discovery avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
