Baseball Recap: Deerfield-Windsor Turns Things Around After Road Loss

Deerfield-Windsor's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Tiftarea Academy on Thursday. The Knights skirted past the Lakeside School Chiefs 3-1.

Gage Tomlinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Deerfield-Windsor saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lane Sceals, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Deerfield-Windsor is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeside School, they moved to 47-5 with that loss, which also ended their 18-game winning streak.

Deerfield-Windsor didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 win against Tiftarea Academy on the 18th. As for Lakeside School, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Wilcox Academy at 4:00 p.m.
