Flag Football Recap: Mingus Marauders vs. Coronado Dons
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mingus). They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Coronado Dons 52-8. With that victory, the Marauders brought their scoring average up to 27 points per game.
A big part of Mingus' win came down to the chemistry between Rory Murphy and her top target Ali Hernandez. Murphy threw for 125 yards and one TD while completing 77.8% of her passes while Hernandez picked up 115 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Mingus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Hernandez led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Alexa Knapp got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
