Soccer Game Preview: Immanuel vs. Selma

Immanuel is 0-10 against Selma since May of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Eagles will welcome the Bears at 6:00 p.m. Immanuel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.

Immanuel lost 6-2 to Reedley on Friday. Olivia Gutierrez was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Ellyann Thomas wasn't going to let Reedley walk away unscathed as she scored both of Immanuel's goals, bringing her season total up to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in December of 2025, Selma was forced to settle for a draw on Friday. Neither they nor Washington Union could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Immanuel's loss dropped their record down to 11-6-2. Selma's draw makes their record 6-3-2 this season.

Immanuel might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Selma in their previous meeting back in January of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
