Baseball Recap: Wheeler Takes a Loss

Wheeler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marietta Blue Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Vaden McCarty made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. He also put up a run, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chase Greenwood, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Wheeler's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Marietta, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-13.

While Wheeler had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
