Baseball Recap: Tucker Comes Up Short

Tucker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southwest DeKalb Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 last Wednesday.

Alec Waller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Tucker is 3-1 when Waller posts one or more home runs, but 3-17 otherwise.

Tucker's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Southwest DeKalb, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Tucker is set to take on their familiar foe Lithonia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Southwest DeKalb will face off against rival St. Pius X Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
