Softball Recap: Apalachee Sets Scoring Season-High Against Habersham Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Apalachee). They came out on top against the Habersham Central Raiders by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Julianne Greeson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Dezyiah Wells was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and one stolen base while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Sikes, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Apalachee lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Apalachee's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Habersham Central, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apalachee will head out to face off against Peachtree Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Habersham Central, they will venture away from home to take on Stephens County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
