Basketball Recap: Kerman Comes Up Short

Kerman has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears on Tuesday, falling 66-23. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.

Leading Sierra Pacific to victory were Apajok Ayuen and Asia Jackson. Ayuen went 6-for-8 en route to 17 points and three steals, while Jackson went 8-for-18 to rack up 17 points and seven boards. What's more, Ayuen also posted a 83% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2023. Nyang Ayuen was another key player, putting up nine points.

Kerman's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Sierra Pacific, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Kerman will head out on the road to take on Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sierra Pacific, they will take on Redwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sierra Pacific is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season.
