Football Recap: Union Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Union extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were outmatched by the Hobbton Wildcats and fell 46-12. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 50-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Union saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tobias Cromartie rushed for 129 yards and a pair of scores. Cromartie showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 58 yards.

As for Hobbton, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Anthony Cowell had a dynamite game, rushing for 86 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Hobbton also got a significant boost from Amir Tate, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Cromartie and Calvin Lacewell Jr. Meanwhile, Hobbton will square off against rival East Bladen at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Tate and Jaden Lewis.
