Soccer Game Preview: North Oconee vs. Mill Creek

The North Oconee Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Mill Creek Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mill Creek took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on North Oconee, who comes in off a win.

North Oconee took a five-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Cedar Shoals, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. North Oconee came out on top in a nail-biter against Cedar Shoals on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Mill Creek faced off against Dacula on Tuesday. Mill Creek fell just short of Dacula by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Falcons are ranked 13th).

North Oconee's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-3. As for Mill Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

North Oconee couldn't quite get it done against Mill Creek in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as they fell 2-0. Can North Oconee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
