Baseball Game Preview: Sandy Creek Patriots vs. Northgate Vikings

The Sandy Creek Patriots will face off against the Northgate Vikings at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. Sandy Creek has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with seven straight losses, while Northgate will come in with three straight victories.

On Monday, Sandy Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Southwest DeKalb and fell 8-6. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly two runs.

Ethan Campbell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Isaiah Dorsey was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northgate). Everything went their way against Spalding on Monday as Northgate made off with a 13-2 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Northgate's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Sandy Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7-1.
