Football Recap: Lewis Central Falls to North Polk in First Game of Season

Lewis Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the North Polk Comets by a score of 27-24 on Friday. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Lewis Central and North Polk should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. The Titans (ranked third) will meet Sergeant Bluff-Luton (ranked 74th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, North Polk will square off against Newton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (9 vs. 47).
