Preview: Walnut Mustangs vs. Los Altos Conquerors
Walnut is 2-8 against Los Altos since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Walnut Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Los Altos Conquerors at 5:00 p.m. Walnut is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Walnut was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to California.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Maileeh Suasti, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Sophia Rosas was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Los Altos put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Rowland, posting a 69-40 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Los Altos has posted since December 16, 2023.
Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Los Altos, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Things could have been worse for Walnut, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-49 loss to Los Altos in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Walnut avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
