Basketball Recap: Plainview Comes Up Short

Plainview extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 6-15. They were outmatched by the O'Neill Eagles and fell 64-33. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.

Pressley Alexander and Riley Miller certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Alexander shot 56% from the field on her way to 12 points, while Miller posted six points and seven boards. Alexander is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played.

As for O'Neill, their record now sits at 18-4. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

O'Neill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mariah Kallhoff, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hilker, who went 7-for-17 to rack up 16 points and five steals.

Plainview has already played their next matchup, a 64-38 victory against Creighton on the 13th. As for O'Neill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-44 win against Ord on the 13th.
