Recap: Monessen Greyhounds vs. Sto-Rox Vikings
After only 25 points in their last contest, the Monessen Greyhounds made sure to put some points up on the board against the Sto-Rox Vikings on Friday. Monessen blew past Sto-Rox 61-24 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-8.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monessen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Na'Jaziah Carter, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carter has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sidney Campbell, who scored 16 points.
Monessen now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Sto-Rox, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monessen will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Brashear at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. Brashear is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Sto-Rox, they will head out on the road to face off against Chartiers-Houston at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chartiers-Houston presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sto-Rox in Pennsylvania (Chartiers-Houston is ranked 230th, while Sto-Rox is ranked 542nd).
