Softball Recap: Millard West Takes Down Ranked Legend

Millard West is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Legend. The Wildcats walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Titans. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won three matches in a row.

Addison Burdorf was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Aubrey Burdorf was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Millard West's record now sits at 9-4. As for Legend, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-4.

Millard West has already played their next contest, a 5-2 victory against Piedmont on the 5th. As for Legend, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-5 win against Bellevue West on the 5th.
