Bakersfield Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexis Bila led the charge by going 5 of 9 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tia Nichols, who posted four points along with 12 boards and seven steals.
Despite the loss, Downey had strong showings from Zadie Carraway, who had six points in addition to 12 rebounds and three steals, and ALEXIS MONROY, who put up nine points. Carraway is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.
Bakersfield Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Downey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
